Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:
- Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook
- Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams
- Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook
See this post for more information:
This continues to be on our backlog due to prioritization of other work items. We will update when there is more to share.
Multi-window chat is in testing. I hope to have great news regarding rollout to the public rings soon.
We are working to ensure that multi-window and other future multi-window experiences are of the highest quality when they release.
@Alex Is there at least some progress on this? It is not on the product roadmap, yet it has been "Planned" for almost 2 years and "Working on it" for over a year. I can image it is a difficult thing to implement when the app is originally SDI, but can you please give a real progress update?
My guess is it is not even in development since it is not on the roadmap.
Thank you for the feedback. Changing the default setting is under review by the feature team, and your feedback is very useful as they are evaluating.
I’m excited to let everyone know that a new build that saves the theme setting is rolling out this week! I’ll mark completed once it’s fully rolled out.
Thanks for your patience!
This is a huge glaring BUG in the code and it's been backlogged for months. How can MS release such a buggy product and expect enterprise customers to just deal with the bugs? Who's running Teams development? My staff would be fired if we let a bug like this go for so many months.
Clicking on the join button in an Outlook reminder takes you to the browser to launch Teams today. The work to bypass the browser and directly launch Teams is being worked on. We’ll update when we have more details.
This happens with me every time as well.
Please check “Teams/Skype Consumer chat and calling interop” on the public roadmap at microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters.. for updates.
Microsoft needs to listen to the feedback it is getting here. This might not have that many votes, however it is a critical feature many have depended on with S4B. Removing it will cripple any ability to move to Teams fully.
The team has updated the default sound for Teams notifications so it is more noticeable. We are in final testing, with a goal to release the new sound by the end of this quarter.
The sound volume it is so low it is nearly impossible to hear on a headset in a somewhat quiet room.
This request is still queued within our backlog. No new details yet.
As stated in the last update, the ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is being implemented in stages for Desktop. Faster tenant switching functionality on the Windows client has been rolled out to the public ring fully, and Mac will begin rolling out soon. Work is in progress on cross-tenant notification improvements, and support for multiple accounts on desktop will follow. We’ll keep you posted!
Note: The ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is supported on iOS & Android today.
Alex & the Teams team
This is still being worked upon. I hope to have more details in the next couple months.
Please know the team is actively working on this feature.
This is working today in the web client on Edge & Chrome. The team is actively investigating feasibility in the desktop client.
Good news! This is in the works.
