Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:
- Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook
- Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams
- Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

We are now preparing for the roll out of Tasks in Teams which will integrate additional features integrating To-Do and Planner. This includes additional list views that also extend to tabs in teams. Further announcements about additional integration in our overall Tasks coherence effort will follow.
You can follow the rollout via our Roadmap item: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=57213. To see a preview of the experience, please visit https://youtu.be/rTATVGroEsQ.

if you have an existing post that you want to show in a different channel, you can edit the message and cross-post. This will add the top-level post to the different channel, but will not include the full set of replies. We will keep this request in mind as we evolve the cross-posting feature in the future and update if the status changes.
Details on cross posting can be found here: https://support.office.com/article/cross-post-a-channel-conversation-in-teams-9c1252a3-67ef-498e-a7c1-dd7147b3d295.

agree with Lisa below. Enabling use of a channel as a managed forum satisfies a clear business need for organized environments for content posts, and replies to conversations. This capability, alongside separate or component capability to require use of Subjects in new posts, would really cure our current woes with unstructured channels that don't govern best practice approach.

Not having this capability baked into Teams is inhibiting our ability to implement best practice properly and most effectively in Teams channels. Would love to see this one get traction in the Microsoft backlog!! Thanks

Adding a subject line to a message makes it a lot more scannable for everyone else. To do that, first you need to expand your compose box by clicking format icon. From there, just type the subject line you want in the first line of your expanded compose box.

can anyone point me to a uservoice submission for enabling mandatory subject population in teams/channels? Thanks

I definitely see where to add the Title (and that capability is key), but I think some users have concern above it not propagating to the saved discussion view (the title). It's confusing/imprecise for toggling between key conversations, from that saved conversation reference point. This capability would add a lot of value

or ability to "alias" conversations, specific to an individual user (or labels, perhaps)

I align this uservoice submission to cover/include a few items, seems to be generic enough in it's reach.
Two items that would help tremendously with engagement, and quality of collaboration:
1) Ability to more elegantly moderate and update extraneous "conversations meant as replies" to thread into reply (moved by a moderator), to keep conversations tight, and contributors informed on best practice, and proper channel usage/design
2) Ability to edit member posts, mainly to update conversation posts to include a Subject where it was not use, as a standard (it is a bit hidden, after all, for users not terribly familiar, behind the Format button). Moderating for use of subjects allows for a clean and efficient channel (who wants to read the body of the post, to find out what it is, to see if they need to read through the conversation post?) would add a significant amount of value!
Thanks
