So happy to share that this is off the backlog and we are actively working on it!
I definitely think this is a must. The way WhatsApp does is great. For Team Channels, how Cisco Spark does it also works. It's not a perfect solution but it's better than nothing. This is necessary for big teams spread across different locations. Please re prioritize!Martin Schmidt supported this idea ·
Updating this topic to reflect that the focus is now on the additional search functionality since the other pieces of the original request have been completed.
Here is the originally summary below:
Items 2, 3, 4, and 5 have been completed and released.
1) universal search function for files, messages, chats, and groups
2) directly send invite to join teams, instead of chat only option
3) ability to create new team, project, or group
4) view calendar/schedule inside app
Basically, have feature parity with the desktop app. I would also be able to add bots from the mobile app.
This request has been declined by the feature team.

Please note the handling of “Guest Accounts” is a separate ask and can be found at: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/16911109-guest-access
The request about “Guest Access at the Channel” level is being tracked by this request: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/31374577-guest-access-should-be-implemented-at-the-channel
Thank you all for the feedback.
A perfect example is when you have a team who has to create rapid action teams to solve specific issues. It would be helpful to create a channel inside their own team for each issue and invite people who need to participate on solving these issues. They might not be part of the Team itself and the Team might not want those users to access all the channels on the team. Another way to solve this is to create separate Team for this, but it might be an overkill.
