Thanks to everyone who volunteered for testing the Office 365 group calendar. The TAP team will be reaching out as we are closer to being ready.
When users go to the ellipse menu on a file in the Files tab and select Get Link, if they select Microsoft Teams (the default option) the URL is huge, messy and...
...multiple user are reporting it doesn't work when inserted in emails or channel or chat conversations. Testing validated this...
We've told users to select SharePoint instead to get a cleaner URL that seems to be working reliably. But this is not intuitive as Microsoft Teams is the default selection.
Is this a bug or poor UX? If there are specific reasons to select one link type vs. the other, can we add that language to the dialog box. (Though, I can't find a reason to use the Microsoft Teams link since it doesn't work every time.)
This feature is still in the backlog.
This just came up in a training class I was giving on Teams. They would like to be able to select where they land the next time they open vs. being put back to the last thing they touched.
The folks in the room will belong to several teams by the end of year, and would appreciate being able to designate their "landing page"
We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.
I’m switching the status to Partially Done.

When is this rolling out? I have You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.0.00.19451 (64-bit). It was last updated on 7/20/17 and do not see this improvement?
This request is still working its way through the backlog. Nothing additional to report yet.
Unfortunately we hit some snags and this has moved back to “working on it”. The team is working to make some corrections and I hope to have a release date in the near future. I’ll keep you posted with what I hear.
This is the biggest stumbling block I run into we get to the Teams portion of our monthly O365 trainings. It's a horrible user experience that I have to direct user to go to the +Add Team button, then use the search box on the RIGHT side of the screen - NOT THE SEARCH BOX ON THE LEFT - to find public teams.
I spend 5-10 minutes walking around leaning over shoulders pointing this out. Then shrugging and smiling when they ask, "Why are there two search boxes?" and "Why do I use +Add Team to look for already created Teams?"
