I suggest the Microsoft Teams community, you'll have more help there, this is for feedback / ideas.
The Teams icon should flash/blink orange whenever a new notification appears and you are not active in the Teams app. Please comment with details if you still aren’t seeing the icon flash and we will investigate. Thanks!
This was added to mobile app today.
As we announced at Microsoft Ignite 2019 this morning, we are excited to confirm that Multi-window capabilities are coming to Microsoft Teams, and will start rolling out to the public ring early next year!
Alex & the Teams team
Apparently there is another user-voice that isn't official that I just posted this too. However I'll vote and add my comments here. I think we need this big time. Make it an option.
"Add the ability to double click your chat and have it pop out to a window. This works exactly like that in the Skype for Business mac client and it's great. Give your the choice. Sometimes I'm working in a Team channel chat and talking to someone with Chat int he background and having to constantly switch tabs etc. to do so is annoying. Obviously switching to Skype for Business works too, but not everyone is on Skype for Business especially when External users come into the picture, it would be nice to chat with them as well once they are in teams.
Would be cool as well if you could even pop a channel out as well for the same reasons."
Teams shows the user names(from Outlook contacts) in toast and call history. We are working on showing contacts that are from Azure Active Directory.
Hi — My apologies for the delay in updating this item. We rolled out a fix a year ago for a specific issue of status changing to away in Teams when you were still active on the device. We thought this had fixed the “incorrect status” issue. From comments below, it sounds like people are still seeing issues.
If you are still having issues, it would be super helpful if you can capture logs by typing Ctrl + Shift + Alt + 1, and send the file from your downloads folder along with device info and detailed repro steps to email@example.com.
Be patient folks, the fix will be pushed to your tenants soon, it's been rolling out and it's light years better and actually works now.
This feature item is still in the works. We will keep you posted as we have new info from the feature team.
This wouldn't be as needed if you coudl at least see who favorites a channel like we used to be able too. Not sure why that feature was stripped out :P. Anyway, seeing the team members with status per channel would be nice too! But it's sorely needed, makes using channel mentions hard!
Do what Discord does :P.
If anyone is still hitting this issue, please respond in the comments section of this topic and let me know!
Still having this same issues and it's a huge issue. There are some e-mail login's people use that some how fall under a work account and these people have no clue that it's hosted on o365 or azuread. Because of this they have no control and those tenants don't have or allow Teams so because of this they cannot access any other Tenant's Team as a guest, so constantly having to create new MSA accounts to invite people to Teams which is less than ideal, especially when they want e-mail notifications sent to their primary e-mail address. Trying to test changing the "alternate e-mail" address on their guest account in my tenant, but I don't think this works and is a bandaid approach.
What really needs to happen is when joining as a guest, it doesn't check if Teams is licensed and or turned on with their homed accounts. This would fix this problem.
Also a secondary issue with this, they have a work account and a MSA account with same address. This wouldn't be an issue other than the fact that the Teams Client defaults to their work account once switched to the guest tenant and accepting the B2B/guest account, so you cannot join the Team in this instance with the personal account and then your back at step one with having to either create a new account or change the login alias for the original account. Both not great user experiences and causing a tons of wasted support time in my org.
Hi Warren, getting same issue. The problem is users don't know they have office 365, or users that have both MSA and O365 account with same e-mail are running into this issue. It seems even if you pick personal account login the desktop client still tries to login to the work account and you get the "Please enable teams" error , or no license etc. because it's trying to use the work account and not the MSA account. I know having them change their MSA account primary alias fixes this but it's rough to have them do that and reinvite their new alias etc.

Hey Chris, All this stuff is available with the get list item and get list item metadata flow actions and you lookup pages by promoted state=2. Then you can add in a Post to Teams, need to use the Teams markup language stuff to get URL's etc. There is some kind of tool in the app store for Teams cards, I recommend creating those cards from the message post, so you can get fancy with the look. Other methods are using a webhook, posting that message to a webhook via flow, then subscribe to the webhook inside the Team channel which will get you the same thing with a card etc. But you get notifications.
You can do this with channels thou. Have a mobile dev and designers channel that those two groups favorite. Then you can just @channel mention in any other channel and it will mention anyone that is favoriting that channel.
Please check “Teams/Skype Consumer chat and calling interop” on the public roadmap at microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters.. for updates.
Wow.... I've been pushing this as a big bonus because we use Skype consumer to communicate with our members. Under back log would be one thing but back to review? The only way I see this being even acceptable is if the "Public" Teams rumored to come out is to replace skype.....
