Sadly, work on this has stopped and been reprioritized. It is on the backlog for now.
I’m sorry folks! I’ll continue to include this in my internal reporting as a highly requested user item.
Chatting with multiple people at once is very difficult. Chat windows should be pop'able.
More good news on this front! This week we shared our official roadmap for convergence: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams-Blog/Roadmap-for-Skype-for-Business-capabilities-coming-to-Microsoft/ba-p/119636
And here’s the PPT deck of the roadmap in case the GIFY makes you dizzy:
Tweet me at @skprufo if you have any questions and I’ll see what I can dig up for you.
Get the top 10 requested changes done and get rid of Skype for Biz altogether. How about that?
Hey everyone, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the engineering team has let me know they’ve come up against some pressing resource restraints causing them to pause work on this item for the time being. So we’re moving this one to the backlog for now.
However, this is not off our radar and certainly not off mine. We’ll continue to regularly revisit this item with the team, so please continue to lobby for more votes and add to the comments below. Every voice counts and helps. Thank you!!
Please drop everything else and get this done right now!
I'm surprised this doesn't have more votes. After a call you have to click on the person and clear the alert. So annoying.
Hi folks, its been a while since I updated this popular request, so wanted to give you an update.
We’re making some overall changes to the UI/UX so we’ll approve your clicking and flow for sure. As for making “Teams” and “Chat” the same tab, that is not likely to come with this first shipment of design changes. However, it is NOT off the table.
Thanks as always for your feedback, patience, and your help in making Teams better and better.
It appears this issue is still happening based on some additional threads. Please provide feedback in the comments if you are still experiencing this issue.
