Wholeheartedly agree with this. While I'd love for the persistent chats to be accessible via skype, our main heartache is that IM's in teams stay in Teams. It should communicate over your Skype rather than having yet another messaging app. With that said, Teams is almost amazing and I think will be when integrated with Skype.
Start off your weekend with good news: we’re working on this!
Thanks to everyone who brought this feature to the forefront and shared feedback on their use case scenario. Very helpful!
I wrote some more product updates on today’s Teams blog in my weekly column, “Weekend Reading” —
My university has a policy on managing profile pictures and is causing a problem with Teams adoption until we can remove the ability to change their pictures. Please allow either a central way to manage profile picture permissions, respect the OWA mailbox policy, or add another spot to disable for Teams.
Happy Tuesday! We have great news to share: we’ve rolled out Microsoft Teams for your Education license.
You can read more details here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams-Blog/Microsoft-Teams-now-available-in-Office-365-Education/ba-p/54801
If this made your day, tweet to us about it! Just use the hashtag #MicrosoftTeams and I’ll make sure to let the team behind Teams know. :-)
I understand waiting to enable teams for Education, but the tile showing up and telling our ~50k users that it's our (IT) fault that we haven't enabled it was not a good idea. Please either roll out, don't show the tile if it's not available, and/or change wording so user's know that Teams is not available to the EDU space.
