We are continuing to work on this feature. As with Windows notifications, we are also doing work to give users the choice between Teams notifications & Mac notifications.
We will update you as work progresses.Matt Rogers commented
Just yesterday on my Mac I was embarrassed in a meeting because a notification from Teams popped up on my screen during a presentation, even though I had macOS's "Do Not Disturb" turned on. This needs to be fixed!
As stated in the last update, the ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is being implemented in stages for Desktop. Faster tenant switching functionality on the Windows client has been rolled out to the public ring fully, and Mac will begin rolling out soon. Work is in progress on cross-tenant notification improvements, and support for multiple accounts on desktop will follow. We’ll keep you posted!
Note: The ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is supported on iOS & Android today.

"3. What kind of work are you in that requires multiple tenant use?"
As an entrepreneur I work in numerous businesses, and have different email accounts for them. Subcontractors might have a similar situation. Every company I deal with needs to have its own Office tenant. As of now, I can't use Teams with all of them -- only one at a time.
This feature is still being reviewed by the feature team. No decision has been made yet. I’ll keep you posted.
