Unfortunately because of changing priorities, this feature was moved to the backlog. The team hopes to pick it up again in the near future.
Admin controlled contact groups for Teams are available via the O365 Global Address List (GAL). Please see documentation here: https://docs.microsoft.com/exchange/address-books/address-lists/create-global-address-list.
Multi-window chat is in testing. I hope to have great news regarding rollout to the public rings soon.
We are working to ensure that multi-window and other future multi-window experiences are of the highest quality when they release.
Is there a way to customize what attributes are shown when you click on a contact? I would be nice to add the mobile number.
As the last status states, we have been testing for several months. Although many people have asked for this feature, we received a similar amount of feedback from other users that they prefer the Teams notifications and don’t want them changed. We are currently testing a feature for users to choose between Teams notifications & Windows notifications.
We will update you as work progresses.
Improvements to day/work week/week view are in the public ring. Our focus now is a new scheduling experience and scheduling assistant, appointments and more.
For feedback related to Group Calendar please see this User Voice item: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/16933204-include-office-365-group-calendar-in-teams.
The team continues to make progress on this. We will share more details as we have them.
I'm having a similar issue. Teams will be running fine but once I connect to my computer via remote desktop the last notification gets stuck in the bottom right corner and the Teams splash screen pops up in the center of the screen and cannot be closed.
The teams application works fine but notifications no longer work. To fix the issue I have to quit and reopen Teams.
This happens to me when I log into my system via remote desktop. To fix I close Teams and then reopen.
Hi everyone, I wanted to check in on this ask because it’s died down since GA, and also because the ask is not totally clear to me.
Right now, we provide a way during the team creation process for you to select an existing Office 365 group. Are you asking to be able to do this same thing, but outside of Teams?
Do let me know!
When I read this originally and voted for it I was assuming "groups" referred to Security and/or Distribution groups in AD.
As I see it, Microsoft mission for Office 365 Groups (utilized by Teams) is to decentralize management and give control back to the users to create and manage groups as need, with limited control and oversight from IT. Is an interesting philosophy and has many implications for IT departments now and for the future.
That said, it would still be nice to utilizes dynamic Security and/or Distribution groups for user access control with Teams. It would be incredibly complex if not impossible to create a Team that is a Security/Distribution group and utilize that groups email address and what have you. I'd propose that the Security/Distribution group be used to maintain user access to an existing Team. Users can be added to the Security/Distribution group in AD and automatically gain access to that Team and users can be removed from a Security/Distribution group in AD and their access to that group will be automatically revoked.
Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:
- Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook
- Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams
- Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

Wow. This made my day.
Wonderful messages like these are what keeps this team so engaged with our users and working hard on the product! We appreciate your kindness and are so happy you are getting so much value from the product.
On behalf of everyone on the Teams team: THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING TEAMS!
Due to a priority shift this request has slipped to the backlog. I hate to bring bad news. I will continue to provide the feature team your feedback and votes.
Hopefully this will move back up in the queue soon.
Just hover over a person’s avator and click the org chart icon in the screen that appears. Or you can click the “Organization” tab in your 1:1 chat with them. If you want to move around your company’s org chart, just click the different people who appear in the chart.
This item is still under consideration by the feature team.
