This is my biggest annoyance - the chat sound is way too intrusive, but I want to hear calls coming in. Also turning sounds to 'Off' doesn't disable the chat sound if its set..
Getting the same thing. I have sound as 'call, mention and chat' (I only actually want 'call' but there is no option for that...

Notifications kill this app for me right now. A simple number count (like skype) in the system tray would be perfect. Currently I have to keep the window open all the time to see if any red numbers appear in any of the left-hand tabs. The sound notifications are completely broken so have had to disable them all (meaning no notification of incoming calls).
Integration with Skype Consumer is no longer under review, and officially planned.
Hmm declined - this is really going to shoot Microsoft in the foot. The software is almost useless without the ability to be able to call customers - what company doesn't have customers!?
Clippy is flattered by all the attention but plans to continue his retirement.
We acknowledge the demand for this capability and are exploring the best possible solutions to enable this.
The ability to turn off emojis is still being worked upon.
Also, there is work to create a compact mode which will also help reduce white space… which in turn will impact some of the complaints are far as wasted space from the emojis as well, that have been voiced in the comments.
Stay tuned for more details.
Performance has been and continues to be a big focus area for Teams. One main area we have made improvements in is responsiveness for the most frequent user actions of switching between Chat, Channel, and Activity. We are also focused on reducing resource consumption and application load time. More improvements are on the way.
