I’m so happy to share an update with you! The feature team has let me know that they are working hard at this and are aiming for a spring time release.
Please comment below if you might be interested in testing or TAP, and include the industry, company size, and location of your org. We would likely want to hit a very wide range of demographics.
Hi Everyone – thank you for your patience. As was commented by someone below, Suphatra is no longer at Microsoft, but rest assured we are working on this feature.
You are amazing! I'm truly impressed with the level of communication that you have had regarding all of the ideas that we as a community have provided for Microsoft Teams. It is refreshing to see that our opinions really do matter, especially for a company as large as Microsoft. Keep up the great work!
Awesome, thanks Suphatra! I'm looking forward to this feature. Also, thank you for providing consistent updates on this product.
This feature is still being reviewed by the feature team. No decision has been made yet. I’ll keep you posted.
I honestly prefer having them separate. My Teams and Channels list is growing significantly. I think it would be cumbersome to have my private chats mixed in with my Teams.
We are working on this!
Due to a priority shift this request has slipped to the backlog. I hate to bring bad news. I will continue to provide the feature team your feedback and votes.
Hopefully this will move back up in the queue soon.
Unfortunately due to re-prioritization this item has slipped back onto the “backlog” for the time being.
I hope to see it move back into “working on it” soon and will continue to engage the feature team with your feedback.
You can remove a channel from your Favorites, then it disappears from the main list and drops under a "more channels" link at the bottom of your team. This is how I've been "archiving" channels that my team has used for projects.
Clippy is flattered by all the attention but plans to continue his retirement.
