Adding any emoji as a reaction remains under review.
I am marking this as partially done to let you know a new reactions bar with Like, Heart, Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and Angry has begun rolling out to all users.
Its OK, but the usability is a bit clunky
This is still under review by the feature team.
that person should have been sacked for not knowing what "it's under D:/stuff" means
+1 And also kill off the old Skype emoticons and smileys.
Wake up Microsoft! This is one reason Slack got so popular!
Emoji is here to stay
Hi Everyone – thank you for your patience. As was commented by someone below, Suphatra is no longer at Microsoft, but rest assured we are working on this feature.
Microsoft: Just say you can't do it, close this suggestion and move on.
Where is the update on this MS? For the top requested feature, you should be giving weekly, if not daily updates on this......
Hi Suphatra, guess whats not been done yet? The most requested feature! You've been out for a few weeks and there's not much to catch up with, Engineering is asleep ZZZzzzzz
We have been iterating on different designs and are starting to test internally. I don’t have a timeframe but will keep you posted.
This is the one thing holding us back from deploying Teams to the business.
FIX THIS. NOW.
Good news, only took you 18 months.
The reply button should not be on the bottom of every message, its a waste of space. It should be anchored to the right and vertically the middle of the message
The feature team is still reviewing, there is lots of discussion about this item and I hope to have a decision soon.
email = 20th century
Slack (MS Teams) = 21st century
But a normal reply is meant to be seen by everyone. If someone is not reading the replies that's their problem.
Don't see the point, just reply to the message.
This how Slack, Hipchat, Discord, Whatsapp, text messaging, and every other messaging system works. I doubt your team doesnt buy into it because of this.
Agree, the old smileys and emoticons are outdated and not cross-platform. They should stick to the Unicode Emoji standard.
Disagree. They should drop all the old emoticons and just stick to the emoji standard.
It's not autocompleteing emoji, its actually using the old Lync smileys. This can be solved if they just got rid of the old smileys and just stick to emoji. There's already an idea open for that.

Still in the works, no additional details are available yet.
Can't tell if this is sarcasm or srs.
A fix for this is being worked on. We hope to have a fix in internal Microsoft rings soon for testing. I don’t have a timeline for release externally at this point, but will keep you posted.
This suggestion is still planned. I don’t have further updates on timing, but will share as we have them. Thanks.
How hard can this be?
Its been two years since this was raised and probably four since Teams first started development. Should have been sorted in two weeks.
You shouldn't need feedback if you hired some good UX designers. It's all common sense stuff and if you can't see why the interface sucks, you should just give up. But this is Microsoft, usability has never been top of the list
Hate to be the bearer of bad news. This item has been declined. There will be no work to hide or remove the reply button.
As many people have commented, a big ask is to help improve how people distinguish between giving a reply and starting a new message.
For that the focus will be on this item. “Better visual delineation between `Reply` and `Start a new conversation`”
