if you have an existing post that you want to show in a different channel, you can edit the message and cross-post. This will add the top-level post to the different channel, but will not include the full set of replies. We will keep this request in mind as we evolve the cross-posting feature in the future and update if the status changes.
Details on cross posting can be found here: https://support.office.com/article/cross-post-a-channel-conversation-in-teams-9c1252a3-67ef-498e-a7c1-dd7147b3d295.

@Alex Cross-posting is not a solution in any way whatsoever. The OP said "but gains importance". That means it has a bunch of replies, attachments etc. Also you cannot cross-post after a message has been posted (it doesn't make a difference though as copy and paste has the same effect)

@Alex The cross-posting feature is not a solution whatsoever. Might as well copy and paste the message. It should be as easy as drag and dropping the conversation from one channel to another. Like grabbing it from the main pane into the left bar, just like moving a file in Windows Explorer. It comes without saying that all replies go along with it. Should only be able to move it into any channel in within the team, apart from private channel. Should be doable by the original poster or by a team owner.
As a bonus, this drag and drop feature could be extended to move a new conversation into another message as a reply. The terrible UI at the moment results in people starting new conversations when they are meant to be replies. An error occurred while saving the comment Derek commented
This one should be very easy to implement. Why has it taken over 2 years?

This feature request is being reviewed by the feature team. No new details to share at this time.
Meanwhile, feel free to share why you need this in class teams / staff teams, and what you need to see (ie # read / list of users read / timestamp of read) and for what purpose.

Not sure how effective this would be. I often glance at the screen and it may have several conversations on it. Unless I'm tagged I might not actually read it yet it will show that I did read it.

Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:
- Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook
- Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams
- Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

Isn't distribution lists an appendage from the past?
Surely you should create a chat group or use a channel? -

This continues to be on our backlog due to prioritization of other work items. We will update when there is more to share.

We've been using Teams for a while and some channels have grown to the point where they need to be in separate Teams. This needs to be taken off the backlog and into production.

I cannot believe you just assumed the gender of the "person bowing" emoji! Just because they have short hair does not mean its a guy! You need to get woke!

It's down to Nagios to create an app for Teams.

Agree, FindTime should be native to Teams.

Great performance and user experience remain a topmost priority for us. Application launch time has seen improvements in the recent build. We will continue making improvements across the product including channel to chat switching and overall resource consumption.

You answered your own question there. Slack was developed by a real dev team who cares about their product. Teams is a Microsoft product. As long as it barely works, that's good enough.

Good luck with this one, efficient coding is at the bottom of Microsoft's list.

Adding any emoji as a reaction remains under review.
I am marking this as partially done to let you know a new reactions bar with Like, Heart, Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and Angry has begun rolling out to all users.

But a normal reply is meant to be seen by everyone. If someone is not reading the replies that's their problem.

Don't see the point, just reply to the message.

This how Slack, Hipchat, Discord, Whatsapp, text messaging, and every other messaging system works. I doubt your team doesnt buy into it because of this.
