This feature request is still on in the backlog. No new updates available at this time.
I know the issues that come up storing mails from outlook in SharePoint. All solutions offered by SharePoint in the past, did not really meet the real needs (e.g. keeping the .msg format and so on). So I don't think that Teams will be able to solve all those issues concerning mails. But in many cases it is not the mail but the attachments we want to keep in Teams/SharePoint. It would be a great step forward, if at least attachment could be uploaded to Teams by drag&drop.
The time you work on this, think about uploading mails to SharePoint too. It is the same issue.
This request is still working its way through the backlog. Nothing additional to report yet.
Still under review by the feature team. Nothing new to report at this time.
This feature request is working its way through the backlog queue. No new details are available yet.
A different Approach:
- Go to an existing SharePoint project-/teamsite
- Add new Team
- Generate a Team named as the SharePoint site
- Add all users of the teamsite
- Generate a Folder for each existing document library
- Link 'Documents' to the related library of the SharePoint site
- Link 'Notes' to the notes linked to the SharePoint site
- Forget about Tasks, they are better treated in Planner or other Tools (e.g. Visual Studio Team Server for software projects)
This would allow linking teams to new and existing SharePoint sites.
If furthermore we could delete the Teams Elements (Chats, ...) without deleting the SharePoint site, we could keep our documents for long term documentation and retrieval.
I think that is a very common Scenario, when using Teams in Project contexts.
1 Vote for Scenario B! But I think, we have it already. Merging SharePoinit site members an Team members is not a key issue.
I appreciate the ability to add further ducument libraries to the Teams SharePoint and than link it to a new folder within a channel - getting all Teams functionality on this library (chat, ...). It would be great if this would work with all SharePoint apps (lists, contacts, ...). Visibility of meta data in Teams would be an other big improvement.
In Addition the option to link Teams to an existing SharePoint site, as discribed in various posts, would be very helpfull but not so easy do implement (I guess).

Thanks for the continued activity on this ticket and showing me this new idea. Can someone please create a new UV idea and rally the troops to vote for it? I love the idea of @here — a good idea for the Presence team.
Note: You CAN @ tag a channel to get the channel’s attention and make it bold so people will look at the channel.
Thank you everyone and have a great Wednesday!

Help us to find relevant Teams by offering user defined meta-data as we know from SharePoint.
