We are continually working on improving battery life. One thing that may help in the meantime is using Dark theme, which was a top mobile request added to Teams mobile in February.
On a full 100% charge, and not using the iPad (i.e. the iPad was ideal) for a period of 14 hours, Teams usage for 2 hours and 24 minutes, and the battery consumption was 94%.
What background activity is teams doing to use so much of batter even when the iPad is not being used?
Multi-window chat is in testing. I hope to have great news regarding rollout to the public rings soon.
We are working to ensure that multi-window and other future multi-window experiences are of the highest quality when they release.
Having teams is great; all your communication in one window including chat.
However if you are someone that needs to communicate with a lot of people in the organization and at the same time; this software is absolutely unusable. I find myself clicking way too many times just to go to a different chat window; there are no shortcut keys also. Such a waste of time and given that the software slows down the more you use it; it’s a nightmare.
Either allow me to have individual windows popped out so that I can ctrl+tab to get to a chat quickly or just bring in some keyboard shortcut for me to navigate through my active chats in the window.
Great performance and user experience remain a topmost priority for us. Application launch time has seen improvements in the recent build. We will continue making improvements across the product including channel to chat switching and overall resource consumption.
The Desktop app is not 100% native and the software slows down after using it for a couple of hours. The web application is much faster.

We are working on a design with more density in mind. Until this design is solidified we are putting this item back to Under Review.
Hi guys! Thanks for submitting this. I totally hear you and have experienced this as well.
The good news is, we’re actively working on this. We recently pushed an update that improved performance when channel switching and scrolling. So this should be considerably better for you.
We’ll continue to make improvements on performance, so stay tuned for updates.
Keep the suggestions coming and thank you for helping us make Teams awesome!
We are continuing to work on this feature. As with Windows notifications, we are also doing work to give users the choice between Teams notifications & Mac notifications.
We will update you as work progresses.
This item is still under consideration by the feature team.
