Performance has been and continues to be a big focus area for Teams. One main area we have made improvements in is responsiveness for the most frequent user actions of switching between Chat, Channel, and Activity. We are also focused on reducing resource consumption and application load time. More improvements are on the way.

My experience is that double-clicking the title bar does not respond at all regardless of whether I have set the title bar to "zoom" or "minimize" in the macOS system preferences.

I would like the channel description visible somewhere on the screen when you select that channel similar to how Slack does this.

Please make the channel description more accessible to users. Currently, if a user wants to see the channel description and has permission to update channels, they have to click "Edit channel" from the "..." ellipsis menu. But, there are many times when they simply want to view and not edit the channel description and therefore, this menu option doesn't make sense. And if they don't have the correct permissions, I'm not sure they even have the option to view the description from the channel page itself.

If I'm wrong and there is another way to

There's a need for my team to be able to view if someone on the team is out of office. Currently, in Outlook, you can send an autoreply message for a certain date range. One potential solution would be to allow users to set a custom "out of office" status in Teams. So, instead of "available" or "busy" or "do not disturb", you could have "out of office" status that would only apply to a certain date range. I agree that it would be nice if an "out of office" status popped up when you @ mentioned the user, but in a way that was passive so it would not distract you from writing a message (for instance, if you knew they were out of office but needed to message them anyway). If this is too complex, an auto-reply for chat messages would be helpful although not as helpful because this wouldn't solve the problem of @ mentioning a user in a channel.

Another potential solution would be an "out of office" bot. For instance, you would be able to @ mention the "out of office" bot and specify the date range you would be out of office This bot would automatically set an "out of office" status for that user or set an auto-reply for chat messages.

It would also be nice to be able to view a calendar showing when everyone on my team was out office, although this might be out of scope. Currently, our team uses a sharepoint calendar to accomplish this, but it's not a very user friendly solution.
