Yes, there should be a setting to adjust the timeout of the banner notifications. I run Teams minimized to the system tray, so the only warning I get of a message is a brief banner notification that is too easy to miss.

The team has updated the default sound for Teams notifications so it is more noticeable. We are in final testing, with a goal to release the new sound by the end of this quarter.

Just happened to look at my phone and noticed a chat message from 30 minutes ago. I've been using my computer the entire time, so either the pop-up from the desktop client never appeared, or I must have looked away for a few seconds and missed it. I then opened the notification settings in the app, and all the entries are blank except for "Chat with Skype for Business" is enabled. If I choose an option for a setting, it then disappears back to blank a second later.

I'm using the desktop client to upload files to a channel. However, most of the time, if I choose multiple files then only a subset of them will upload. I then retry the remaining ones, and a portion of them upload, so I repeat until they are all uploaded. For example, if I select 6 files for upload, the client may say "Uploading 3 files". I then select the remaining 3 files and the client may say "Uploading 2 files". I then upload the final file, which may also fail by itself... I don't even get a notification then.

Hi — My apologies for the delay in updating this item. We rolled out a fix a year ago for a specific issue of status changing to away in Teams when you were still active on the device. We thought this had fixed the “incorrect status” issue. From comments below, it sounds like people are still seeing issues.
If you are still having issues, it would be super helpful if you can capture logs by typing Ctrl + Shift + Alt + 1, and send the file from your downloads folder along with device info and detailed repro steps to teamsml@microsoft.com.
Thanks all!

Yes, this is still happening. First, it seems like it's designed to show if the user is actively using the Teams app. It needs to show if the user is actively using their computer (like Skype). Second, the status is still inconsistent. Most of my contacts always show away, although it's tough to tell how much of that is due to the first issue I mentioned.

Finally got folks to give Teams another try, but we have a mutiny forming to head back to Skype due to this and some other UI/UX issues. I really don't want to go back to Skype.

This item is still under review by the feature team. I have no details as to when a decision might happen.

Still not receiving messages from Skype For Business users here. We tested today... I have Teams open, the user sends me a Skype message, I don't receive it, and some time later I receive and Outlook email stating that I missed a Skype conversation. I don't have Skype installed. The other user has both Skype and Teams installed, but refuses to use Teams. I no longer see a setting for "Chat with Skype for Business" either.
