This is currently a major flaw with teams. What this has done is make people misuse the important flag to send out notifications, which is more frustrating because you can't skip those notifications at all.

Right now there's two different styles of notifications for me: Native OS X notifications and Teams notifications.

It happens quite often that I miss the notifications for Teams because it looks so different from the native notifications which doesn't make me focus on them.

Please unify the notification appearance with native notifications.

I will be closing this topic since the feature request has been split apart into each individually requested item. This will allow you to see when items are actually closed out and moving ahead instead of having one item giving a perpetual misrepresentation of multiple pieces.

Please take the time to vote for each of these you are impacted by.

    1) OSX client updates – app quits multiple times a day – https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/33838036

    2) MAC app fails to update with standard account (needs admin creds) – https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/33838069 (This item is completed)

    3) Update files are stored on the MAC taking up a lot of disk space – https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/33838114

    4) Need prompt before updating on MAChttps://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/33838126

    5) After update on MAC – notifications are missed – https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/33838144 (This item is due to individual organizations not using modern authentication – once modern authentication is used, this issue will no longer…

When using multiple spaces, it's not always obvious that the app has closed itself which causes our team to more often e-mail or physically walk over to the people they want to message just because we have no idea if the people we try to message has the app running or not because it force restarts without restarting.

The client should say "hey, we got an update, click here to restart!". Don't mess your users up by forcing restarts, that's just bad behaviour. Apply the update on next close or when the user wants to update.

For an example: check out how Spotify does it. Does not force the user into restarting, but it will have updated once you restart it yourself or by clicking the bar it creates to notify you that there's an update.
