    Per channel or team would be ideal here. Even just their profile picture underneath the team showing up if they're online would be good here that shows 10 pictures with a ... that could be clicked on to expand it out.

    Probably a big need I've heard feedback on here is the need for different privacy settings for notifications. Some options that have been requested are:
    1) Pop up to show you received a message from a person with their name and picture, but not show content of the message.
    2) A "do not disturb" mode that is automatically enabled when your are set as busy in your calendar.

    The main issue is notifications popping up in meetings that may contain sensitive information, or not be appropriate for the context of the meeting. It would be nice if the popup didn't get displayed while in meeting mode.

    Threading feels strange in Teams but I'm not sure it necessarily needs to go away. An option that seems like it could be the best of both works would be if the reply "bar" was removed from the chat and the reply button was only shown on the mouseover just like the like and save buttons.

    This would allow teams to simply ignore the reply function if it isn't relevant to them, but for teams using it, they would still have access.

    Hate to be the bearer of bad news. This item has been declined. There will be no work to hide or remove the reply button.

    As many people have commented, a big ask is to help improve how people distinguish between giving a reply and starting a new message.
    For that the focus will be on this item. “Better visual delineation between `Reply` and `Start a new conversation`”
