We’re currently working on defining a compact mode experience. I will post more details when we have more to share.
Our team is still using Slack for messaging and Teams only for meetings mainly because of the overcomplicated UI. Here are some ideas to simplify the UI
- Allow users to get rid of the "Welcome to the team!" section
- Use less borders and background
- Hide the Reply button, only show it on tap/hover
- Get rid of "This message has been deleted"
The current design (layout, theme, rounded corners, icons, ...) makes me think this is not an app created by Microsoft. It doesn't have the fluent modern looking of UWP apps. Also, the pale viloet color tone is boring and unpleasing to the eye.
The desktop version doesn't feel like a Microsoft's product. It doesn't adhere to Microsoft's design language. Also, links & inline code spans are not noticeable.
This feature item is still in the works. We will keep you posted as we have new info from the feature team.
