We need this. Our company is trying to switch from internal Jabber and WebEx servers to Microsoft Teams. However, the fact that meeting invitees cannot dial into a meeting from a land line is a major roadblock to completing this task.
This request is still on the backlog.

I’m so happy to share an update with you! The feature team has let me know that they are working hard at this and are aiming for a spring time release.

The slash command changes are still in the works. I hope to have more details to share soon.

As many people have commented, a big ask is to help improve how people distinguish between giving a reply and starting a new message.
For that the focus will be on this item. “Better visual delineation between `Reply` and `Start a new conversation`”
