We are still considering this feature for future releases, and will continue to update the status when it changes.
We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.
I share the same confusion as others before me that the survey wasn’t about private channels at all and if I remember correctly, the survey was almost identical to the one in February: have you lost the answers to that..?
Survey submitted. My understanding about the confusing part Ed mentioned was that private channels' conversations and files are always private for regular users, but the question was about channels' team owners: should all of them, had they been added to the channel or not, be able to view private channels' files in Teams or only outside it. E.g. in my organization, team owners should be able to follow all conversations and view files in all of their team's channels, private or not. If more privacy is needed, you can create a private team.
Quick look (á la Skype) of a file, downloading and showing the downloaded file in Explorer/Finder and opening the file in a correct application are necessary features for Teams.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news. This item has been declined. There will be no work to hide or remove the reply button.
As many people have commented, a big ask is to help improve how people distinguish between giving a reply and starting a new message.
For that the focus will be on this item. “Better visual delineation between `Reply` and `Start a new conversation`”
