As mentioned in the prior status, the channel limit was raised from 100 to 200.
In the near future a retention limit will be set so you can still go back and reinstate a channel you had deleted. Once the retention period has expired then the channel will get a hard delete which will free up the space and no longer count toward the 200 channel limit.
This will help with some of the issues you have voiced in the comments below.
But I understand many of you wish the limit to be further increased. I will continue to provide your votes and comments to the feature team.-Warren

Hi, I've just been trying to work this with support who have sent me here to "voice my sentiment"! We have a time that has maxed out at just over 100 channels including deleted channels, and I'm told that it cannot be increased to 200 channels (a known issue) and a change is in the works (no lead time).
The inability to hard delete channels to free up space is ridiculous - who wants a recycle bin that you can't empty?
This is very frustrating and actually pretty poor Microsoft, please sort it out soon. I love your products but these things need to be ironed out. This has seriously affected our business processes.

Guys seriously this is a problem. We are trying to manage within the 200 limit (and wish it was higher), but if even deleting the channel does not free up room for more channels to be created, it causes huge disruption to our business process. PLEASE FIX THIS. Surely it cannot be too hard to do compared to all the other great stuff you are building.

I apologize for not having updated this. Changing the landing page for a Team and/or Channel remains on the backlog at this time.

if you have an existing post that you want to show in a different channel, you can edit the message and cross-post. This will add the top-level post to the different channel, but will not include the full set of replies. We will keep this request in mind as we evolve the cross-posting feature in the future and update if the status changes.
Details on cross posting can be found here: https://support.office.com/article/cross-post-a-channel-conversation-in-teams-9c1252a3-67ef-498e-a7c1-dd7147b3d295.

This continues to be on our backlog due to prioritization of other work items. We will update when there is more to share.

This would really be useful so that when we create new channels programmatically or via MS Flow, the key tabs for users of the channel can be added automatically (right now someone has to manually add them)

The team is working on changes to the desktop client so recently opened tabs are kept in memory, as long as it doesn’t use too much memory.
I will keep you posted as we make further progress.

Pinning the entire document library is supported today. Learn more here, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-a-sharepoint-page-or-list-to-a-channel-in-teams-131edef1-455f-4c67-a8ce-efa2ebf25f0b.
We currently do not support pinning a specific folder, but we are considering this feature.

Group Calendar is a priority for the team, and the feature team is continuing work on it. You’ll start to see some incremental improvements. We look forward to sharing more details and timeframes soon.
Thanks!

Any updates please? Is there a plan to increase it - as others have said it's a major design constraint.
