Any news on this?
We have been iterating on different designs and are starting to test internally. I don’t have a timeframe but will keep you posted.
This is currently in internal testing rings at Microsoft, and the feature team is targeting a release to the public in early Q2.
~Alex & the Teams team
The feature team is still reviewing, there is lots of discussion about this item and I hope to have a decision soon.
This would be great to have especially when working on a pc that isn't my standard work computer!
We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.
Great news to see this is changed to Under Review, Suphatra... this will be a great feature to have on Teams
@Suphatra based on the discussion it seems pretty one sided about the direction people would like Microsoft to take. Is there any update on this? Or will Microsoft not be making any changes here?
I agree with other views here that this doesnt help. Working with a team spun up for a project i would want a channel for working with the Dev team, one that worked with externals, one that worked with stakeholders and then one that everyone could access for general updates. Having 4 teams for 1 project would be a nightmare, especially considering the teams sites and other stuff that get spun up when you create a team. Total overkill to do that
This item is still under review by the feature team. I have no details as to when a decision might happen.
This feature is still in the works. No additional details are available at this time.
@David I agree its a little less obvious than the usual Browse button but is aligned with their approach to OneDrive for Business and asking users to 'upload' there too so i guess that is their road forward!
@Ludmila - that is odd because i see it there - see here https://tinyurl.com/hzo7rl5.
Ludmila do you not see an upload button? on the attach a file screen i see:
and then further down a purple Upload button so i can add files from the pc
The issue seems to be that when you start a chat with a new person you have to say something before you can send them an attachment. You cannot start just by sending a file. I notice when i look back at existing chats i can add attachments, but new chats require the above step first.
We’re currently working on defining a compact mode experience. I will post more details when we have more to share.
Thanks to everyone who volunteered for testing the Office 365 group calendar. The TAP team will be reaching out as we are closer to being ready.
