The team is working on changes to the desktop client so recently opened tabs are kept in memory, as long as it doesn’t use too much memory.
I will keep you posted as we make further progress.Peter-Ross Cuthbert commented
Absolutely need this feature. I think the best way to handle it would be to offer the user an option to "pin" or "keep loaded in background" in the tab settings. This way it's up to the user to manage memory. I can't see it being anymore demanding than having a ton of browser tabs open though and a lot of things I would usually have open in a browser could then be moved into Teams.
I think it would also be beneficial for tabs to be able to display notification badges/tab notifications for things like putting your Outlook into a tab.
The feature team is still reviewing, there is lots of discussion about this item and I hope to have a decision soon.
As stated in the last update, the ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is being implemented in stages for Desktop. Faster tenant switching functionality on the Windows client has been rolled out to the public ring fully, and Mac will begin rolling out soon. Work is in progress on cross-tenant notification improvements, and support for multiple accounts on desktop will follow. We’ll keep you posted!
Note: The ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is supported on iOS & Android today.
