This feature request is still being worked upon.

I am still trying to get details on what we could expect for Cortana in Teams and will share examples once something is available.

BTW, for me, SEARCH was the critical issue; being able to find the task when I needed it. To clarify, when you select "Copy link to task" it DOES copy both the name of the task, and the deep link attached to it. If you save it to another location, it will first attempt to open the desktop Teams app, or at least it did in my case. When given the option to open the web app, it was unable to find an item the link would go to.

Anyway, to avoid going back and forth between the conversations tab and the planner tab in Teams, I went to each task, and copied the link, pasting it into an email doc as a temporary place holder for the hyperlink.

Then, when I got all the hyperlinks pasted into the email doc, I jumped over to the conversations tab.

I then right clicked on the first link, pressed "C" to copy the hyperlink, pressed Alt + Tab to jump to the prior window (which was the new conversation, pressed CTRL + V to paste into the new conversation field, then right-clicked on the next one, continuing that process until I got them all pasted into individual conversations.

Now, when I create a new task, I am just going to make this a part of the process so I can search for the task in the future -- at least I'll do this until the Teams team makes tasks searchable on their own. Hopefully soon!

OK, so I have found a REALLY AWKWARD way to make this work, and it seems to me this is more work than it ought to be...

    1. Open the task.
    2. In the ellipse at the top-right ("More") select "Copy link to task."
    3. In the dialog box that opens, press Ctrl + C to copy the link.
    4. Click on the "Conversations" tab.
    5. Paste the link you just copied into the conversation field, and hit Enter.

You now see the title of the task in your conversation. And when you hover over it, you can see the deep link to the task that you wanted originally; it just took five time consuming steps to get to it. Since it is now a part of your conversation, you can do THREE things...

6a. Hover over, then right click on the title of the task, and select "Copy Link." You get the REAL deep link to the task.

6b. Hover over, then right click on the title of the task, and select "Open Link" -- or just click on the title of the task. It will open the task in the proper tab.

6c. Enter a portion of the title in the Teams search bar, and it will locate the "Message" you just saved in the Conversations tab. Click on the message, and it will take you to it, where you can NOW click on the link to open the task. WOW!

Anyone come up with an easier way to do this???

This feature request has moved to the planning stage. There have also been several small updates that have gone out already, as well.

I’ll keep you posted as I hear more about coming updates.

Here is a search function I could REALLY use right now. Tasks. I can search for messages, people and files -- but not tasks. So when I want to find the status of a task, I either have to search all over the planner for it, or I have to use a really AWKWARD work-around:

    https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/31162321-copy-link-to-task-does-not-work-in-the-desktop-app

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Teams, and I appreciate how responsive Microsoft is to adding functions that make it keep getting better -- but if we're going to be able to use those functions effectively, there are some basic things that need to be done...

BTW, in case you don't want to read the contents of the link, here is what it takes to make a task searchable and accessible -- anyone have a better method?

WOW!

I'd also like to see us use some form of the group and tenant email address rather than the awkward "abc4567d@amer.teams.ms" -- it should be <channel>.<group>@<tenantEmail>.com.

Since the group email is created at the time the group is created, it's a waste not to leverage it. Not to mention an Enterprise is going to prefer that email appear to come through the tenant rather than a third party service.

try this instead  ·  Suphatra responded

I really like the suggestion of creating an alarm on a message, so you come back to it. I’ve passed this on to our engineering team.

Meanwhile, here’s another feature you can utilize for the same purpose — use our “bookmark” button, which is in the upper right corner of every message. This will save that message or thread directly to your profile. To access your saved messages, just click your face in the upper left corner of the product. You’ll see a tab in the left rail that says “Saved.” This is like a list of little reminders.

    Hope that helps! :-)

    partially done  ·  Warren responded

The zoom feature has released to the public ring. Using CRTL + or CTRL – zoom in and out on a Windows PC.

I need to correct the information I provided last month about MAC. It appears the MAC version is still in testing and hasn’t yet gone out to the public. It is “In Testing” but will be coming to the public soon!

The item tracking this specific update can be found at: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/admin/v3/suggestions/16933183/activity

There now is a UI element that tells you your current zoom level and a Setting within the UI to preset your zoom preference.

Since the zoom feature could very well cover the vast majority of user needs, based on the majority of comments and feedback, I will flag this item as Partially Done.

Thank you for all the feedback and support!

I’m thrilled to announce that redesigned and expanded message actions have begun rolling out to all users.

    This includes:
    1) message actions, also referred to as “…”, moving up and out of the way of text, and
    2) enabling new reaction types including Like, Heart, Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and Angry.

    Enjoy!

Again, thank you for helping us make Microsoft Teams the best it can be.

Hi folks, I’ve gotten a number of emails reporting this bug is back. Augh! Sorry about that.

I’ve let the team know so we can find-and-kill this bug. Will let you know when a fix is deployed.
