The ability to remove a user from group chats (including meeting chats) is now available on desktop, and coming soon to mobile.

How it works: A user can go to any group chat of 3 or more people and navigate to the roster and by hovering over any user you will see the “X”. Clicking on this will show a confirmation dialog. Then the user must select remove to remove the user.

What does everyone see: Everyone in the chat will see the control message that says “User A removed User B from the chat”.

What does the removed user see: The removed user will still have access to the chat history but will no longer see new messages after the point of removal and will not be able to compose messages or make any changes to the chat.

Note: This setting is controlled by your tenant admin, so may or may not…

By search for partial names we also mean partial words. Searching for a servername SERVERNAME001AB should come up when you search for SERVERNA. Or add wildcard feature so I can search for SEVERNA*. Must have!

This feels like a no brainer. Allow us to resize or collapse. Applying similar behavior like the way One Note 2016 collapses notebooks would be awesome.

    Zane commented  ·

Agreed. Let us resize it too. When working on a spreadsheet it takes up more space than I would prefer.

    Zane supported this idea  ·
    Zane commented  ·

Allow the left bar to be resized. When viewing a spreadsheet it would be nice to have more space.

Allow the left side bar to be minimized, possibly.

Must have. Sometimes you want to chat and work at the same time.

    Zane commented  ·

When trying to work on something in teams while chatting with someone moving back and forth between the two is overbearing. It would be nice if you had an option to pop out Chat (including chat userlist and grouped chat windows) to a separate window so you can chat while working on items.

The specific use case I am most interested in supporting is the ability to "mute" notifications for a specific team. I have a team that I need visibility into but have no interest in receiving notifications when someone tags the entire team or channel which they do a lot.

    Zane commented  ·

Yea, confusion on what Following a channel does.

Until you guys fix the UX of replying to threads vs starting a new conversation this would be a great feature to implement so we can quickly fix posts by people who make new threads instead of replying to the original.

Yea, use of transparent images which Teams convert transparency to black looks pretty bad. Supporting transparency in profile images would be great!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. This item has been declined. There will be no work to hide or remove the reply button.

As many people have commented, a big ask is to help improve how people distinguish between giving a reply and starting a new message.
For that the focus will be on this item. “Better visual delineation between `Reply` and `Start a new conversation`”
    http://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/19224826

    Zane commented  ·

For what it is worth the #1 thing I see users do is create a new conversation instead of reply to a thread. You need to somehow indicate in a loud way that the bar on the bottom is for NEW posts, use reply for other conversations. A quick tutorial for new users who have never logged in teaching them the basics would probably do the trick.

We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.

I believe this request is to allow you to edit membership of a channel to allow you to remove users from said channel. I.E. If I make a channel for Corporate IT that is open for all in corpIT but want a channel with just managers for management discussion. This would be a cool feature to have.
