This feature request is now under review.
I’ll update this topic as we move through the decision process. Thank you for the suggestion.
We are working on a better experience in Teams when a user is not connected to the internet. No timeline to share at this point, but we will keep you posted.
I’m super excited about this one! This should help the daily user experience tremendously. Looking forward to bringing this to you.
The release notes, for what it's worth, are here
and in the client under Chat -> "T-Bot" -> "Release Notes"
Great news! A new version (1.0.00.8201 (64-bit) ) has been released! The website release notes have been updated... with a note about what happened a week ago that's not even a change to the client. So now we have multiple versions released without any release notes.
Got version 1.0.00.7405 today but none of the of the release notes (bot & website) are updated, this makes me sad. I also noticed that the dates on the release notes does not even match each other.
Is it really that much effort needed to keep release notes up to date? How are we supposed to appreciate new features or fixes if we don't know about them?
Personally I don't even care about the overlay just give me some way of seeing what has changed.

But currently they have not been updated even though the t-bot ones has been.
Just updated from 0.7.00.3803 (Feb 15 patch) to 0.7.00.5203 but nothing new in patch notes for bot or the website.
Thank you all very much for the great response. The survey is now closed. The feature team will be reviewing all the data that was gathered and responded based on the findings.
Again, thank you for helping us make Microsoft Teams the best it can be.

This feature item is still in the works. We will keep you posted as we have new info from the feature team.
My primary need is to have a contact list like in S4B, the current favorite is not enough with it's 15 conversations limit. I need a quick way to contact users I chat with regularly and that is more than this.
Being able to easy see this for a channel is good since a contact list as mentioned above will not show all the users in a channel like guests that I might not speak to regularly one-to-one. Ideally this should be done as a pop-out list on the right side of the app.
I big need was solved by follow but I will always support more fine grained controls for features such as this. There are obviously a lot of more features that could be added here like emails notifications for everything or even custom ways to notify such as different channels or even custom sounds for each channel/user.
Thanks for the continued activity on this ticket and showing me this new idea. Can someone please create a new UV idea and rally the troops to vote for it? I love the idea of @here — a good idea for the Presence team.
Note: You CAN @ tag a channel to get the channel’s attention and make it bold so people will look at the channel.
Thank you everyone and have a great Wednesday!

@Suphatra is there also an option as suggested by Jordan to only give notifications to people that are not away (@here)?
