Performance has been and continues to be a big focus area for Teams. One main area we have made improvements in is responsiveness for the most frequent user actions of switching between Chat, Channel, and Activity. We are also focused on reducing resource consumption and application load time. More improvements are on the way.

CPU usage is also unnecessarily high resulting in too much battery consumption.

We want to see who is in a specific channel and what their presence is easily. It would also be nice if their was a visual indicator to show whether people were looking at the channel currently... this could be done by showing their avatar grayed out if they're not viewing the channel, but in full color if they are. This would allow us to know if colleagues are live watching while we're typing.

This feature is still in the works. There was some adjustments to the overall strategy.
I’ll try to get some additional details and share them with you.

The only reason I wouldn't want this is because there is no clean way to currently set Store apps to load at login. If this was fixed though then a Store would be a no-brainer.

I'd be fine with getting the > and >>> syntax from Slack, but there's probably a more intuitive way to do this as well. Quoting is an essential part of written multi-party communication. It would be user-friendly if you could highlight text and quote it in a reply through a contextual menu.

on the backlog  ·  Warren responded

I apologize, there had been come miscommunication with regards to this topic.

The good news is that this item has not been declined! It has actually been approved by the feature team and is now “On the Backlog”.

I’ll keep this thread updated as we move through the development.

Forwarding is great, but this is different and will result in more stickiness between Email & Chat. Users should be able to click on an email in Outlook and send it to a chat.

Thanks for following our suggestion to vote this up on SharePoint. It worked! SharePoint has confirmed that they have already started working on this and I’ll be getting an ETA from them after the holidays. -Suphatra

Even better yet would be if Office 365 Groups emails could integrate with Planner and Teams at the same time so that O365Groups email could function as a sort of ticketing system off Planner tasks while Teams would allow internal conversations around the projects... seems like the ultimate collaboration/productivity tool.
