    I have a complicated solution that involves code. First of all, you need to go to the chat in the Teams web app (https://teams.microsoft.com) in your browser (I have tried this for chrome). Then, open Inspect Element (ctrl+shift+i) and go to the Console tab. Paste the following code but don't press enter:

    var threadId=location.hash.slice(location.hash.search(19)).split("?")[0];
    fetch("https://amer.ng.msg.teams.microsoft.com/v1/threads/"+threadId, {
    "headers": {
    "accept": "json",
    "accept-language": "en-US,en;q=0.9",
    "authentication": "skypetoken=<SKYPETOKEN>",
    "behavioroverride": "redirectAs404",
    "content-type": "application/json",
    "sec-fetch-dest": "empty",
    "sec-fetch-mode": "cors",
    "sec-fetch-site": "same-site",
    "x-ms-client-env": "pckgsvc-prod-c2-usea-02",
    "x-ms-client-type": "web",
    "x-ms-client-version": "1415/1.0.0.2020061225",
    "x-ms-scenario-id": "740",
    "x-ms-user-type": "user"
    },
    "referrer": "https://teams.microsoft.com/_",
    "referrerPolicy": "no-referrer-when-downgrade",
    "body": null,
    "method": "DELETE",
    "mode": "cors",
    "credentials": "omit"
    });
    delete threadId;

    Replace <SKYPETOKEN> with your skype token. You can get your skype token by going to the lock icon in the top left corner, pressing it, pressing cookies, expanding asm.skype.com and then expanding Cookies, and taking the value of skypetoken_asm. Now press Enter to run the code. If this works, the thread should not be deleted, but you should see a message saying that you cannot send messages to the thread because you are not a member. The thread has been soft-deleted and all members have been removed. I think it gets hard-deleted after 30 days like everything else in the Microsoft world.

    I need this functionality as well. My team has a lot of chatter, and scrolling back a few months is quite painful.

    Microsoft Teams - please support chromium browser. On 32-bit Ubuntu, there is no way to install Chrome or Edge.

    This works perfectly....Thank you so much :)

    "Your company can set active directory display names to be firstname lastname. @name will then be in first-last order. If you then hit backspace once when mentioning a preson @name will just be their first name. Our company just dd that and it works great for everyone. And names in Outlook are now first-last too."

    Great suggestion for all STEM classes! I’ve moved this feature to ‘under review’.

    The engineering team is continuing to work on adding support for multiple accounts on desktop clients. We will first launch support for 1 work/school account and 1 personal account so users can enjoy Teams for work and personal side-by-side. Windows and MacOS. Support for multiple work accounts is still being worked on and will come at a later date.

    You can track status via the roadmap here: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=68845.

    Thanks!
