As a setting - I have a tabbed document that I don't want anyone but me to edit.

Within the conversation stream you can add from OneDrive, other Team sites and _recent sharepoint files_, but not from sharepoint itself (either as a link or otherwise.

When I have a sharepoint library as a tab, it would make sense to be able to navigate to a file within the Sharepoint doc library and add it to the conversation, most usefully as a restricted link to ensure it's the most recent version of the file.

You can add the Sharepoint doc libraries to the Team as a tab, but I get the feeling that beyond that Sharepoint and Teams/Groups will stay entirely separate.

You also can't use a sharepoint library file in the conversation stream - that's a big loss for us.

I was going to suggest the ability to add sharepoint files as tabs, but thank you for pointing out that it's already there in a rather convoluted way.

Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:

    - Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook

    - Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams

    - Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook
