@Justin Chando, it will be important for Microsoft to continue to develop this aspect as it is a huge limiting feature. Teachers need the ability to either create groups within assignments and assign to groups (typing in 30 kids names each time you want to assign something is not efficient) or to have a separate Assignments Tab in the channels. Here are two examples of why that is important for schools. First, I teach the same content to 120 different students through 6 different class groups. They all need access to the same resources, files and assignments, but I have them in class on different days and at different times. To avoid confusion, I need to have various due dates for various groups of student for one assignment. I also want to look at assignment data from individual class groups rather than trying to find various kids from one group throughout an alphabetical list of 120 kids. The second example is a group of teachers teaching 120 students through one Team, while different groups can work in different channels, there is no way for a teacher to easily assess assignments for just their students unless each time an assignment is created, the teacher has to add each student individually to the assignment, this is too time consuming, so being able to assign to a Group of students or a channel that is private to a specific group of students would be efficient. You might be asking, why not have separate Teams for each class, yes, this is what our school does, but it is very inefficient because we have to share resources across 6 different Teams, we have to distribute OneNote pages to 6 different Notebooks (which also has to be done individually rather than being able to select multiple Notebooks to copy to at once.), we have to post in 6 different Post sections (this one we can at least post to several at once, but not if there is an attachment involved and you want it to be organized into a folder!)

Thank you for your feedback! We are updating this as “Partialy Done” as our first step to solving for pinned posts has been released! Pinned posts allows users from a team to pin a message for everyone in the channel to be able to easily reference. While any message can be pinnable, we expect our users to use this feature to pin information like channel guidelines or important announcements. We know this doesn’t solve all pinning scenarios, and that there is still a need to make this easier for users to find, especially within the message list. We will share another update as soon as it is available.

Within your Teams Files tab, there is an option to "Open in SharePoint". When you click on this, it opens the file organization within the SharePoint version of within this area, when you click on
    "+ New"
You are able to select "Link" as one of the options. So why is this not the same in Teams!? As a teacher, we want to keep resources all in one folder for students to access. The user design would be way more efficient if we didn't have to navigate into SharePoint to do this.

    Thanks!
