Thank you for your reports. We released client and service updates this week, that address many MacOS-specific performance issues. We are also aware of recent performance issues with Microsoft Teams meetings, especially on laptops and when using external monitors.

I am continually getting complaints about Teams causing fans to come on for 2018 Macbook Air 1.6GHz Core i5 running latest version of Teams for Mac v. 1.4.00.16567 under fully patched MacOS Catalina 10.5.7. Because I happened to have a spare M1 Apple silicon Macbook Air, I swapped one of these Intel machines. This is completely unacceptable that I would have to swap an almost latest generation Intel processor for a brand new architecture. Given all the Teams updates released through the past year and a half, it is unacceptable that this situation continues. As so many have said before, Microsoft, fix this, now.
