   Green - is preferable, as it is accepted std UI design for communications apps, but even just making it Lync/Skype "Blue" would at least draw attention to it.
   Having colour palette which is dull and fades into background on 'dark' theme is borderline idiotic, and leads me to the assumption the product group have never done (or just ignored) user-experience testing.
