Allowing your users to change specific sounds on a client machine is not rocket science. MS Teams does so much to do so little for the user experience. The ire isn't about just the sounds... it's about the philosophy behind the decision to disregard users in many ways (of which this is another example).

    1. Users have been able to change or modify sounds and notifications since the days of dial-up modems and SoundBlaster16 cards. With enough ingenuity you could even change the sounds on DOS games. This is a baffling and unnecessary step backwards. Come on, Microsoft!

    2. There are legitimate user NEEDS to change the notification sounds (plural). The singular MS Teams notification sound is the "Check Engine" of notifications. "SOMETHING HAPPENED IN TEAMS!". Great. What, exactly? A chat message directed at me? A new message in a group chat? Did someone add a person to a team? Was I added to a team? POINTLESS!!!!

    YES!

I would like to be able to assign a UNIQUE sound to anything that comes in on the "Chat" section. I need to respond to direct messages immediately.

Because EVERYTHING in MS Teams throws the same notification sound, I have to stop what I'm doing to decipher what exactly triggered the MS Teams sound. Usually it is NOT a chat and I've just broken my concentration for nothing!
