100% agree with this, and it's distressing that almost 3 years later this functionality still hasn't been implemented. I'll play the slack card here and say they've been doing this for half a decade now, if not longer. Not being able to jump to the point in the conversation where the search result is targeting to provide context for that result renders it marginally useful at best, and beyond useless and into time consuming junk at worst, per the original commenter's statement - "trying to scroll through days of endless chatter is cumbersome." I'd go a step beyond that and say it's not just cumbersome; there's a significant material cost in wasting that kind of time and energy, with no guarantee that anything will come of it.

Thank you for your reports. We released client and service updates this week, that address many MacOS-specific performance issues. We are also aware of recent performance issues with Microsoft Teams meetings, especially on laptops and when using external monitors.
The team is working to resolve these issues. In the meantime, please find troubleshooting information here: https://docs.microsoft.com/microsoftteams/troubleshoot/known-issues/teams-slow-video-meetings-laptops-4k.

250 comments and almost 900 votes about this since Feb (including this one) - no acknowledgement, let alone response from MS. Nice. Meanwhile, we have thousands and thousands of macs in our fleet being turned into noisy hot plates by an application that we use for the majority of our collaborative workflows at this point. Very frustrating.

Adding to the pile on this. I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing "it's been in slack for half a decade" and "my team refuses to move to teams because this feature is missing", but it doesn't make them any less true. As we near the end of 2020, an update would be appreciated. Thanks.
