This is actually a very important feature that would benefit the implementation of Teams within a company. Most best practices state that Teams adoption is best in those institutions where the leadership are actively using Teams versus email or some other method. In the two institutions I use teams (business and a private school), it is difficult for the top leadership to keep up with every notification, so they start ignoring them and then just wait for someone to pass them in the hallway to say something, defeating the purpose of Teams altogether.
Having the ability to manage notifications enables leaders to be on Teams and just check in when they want. If they are specifically @mentioned somewhere, then that needs to be what triggers the notifications on their devices.
