Thank you for your continued feedback. The feature team is actively working on this feature as well as doing work to give users the choice to open Word/Excel/PowerPoint files by default in Browser, Office app or inside the Teams app. We will share an update here as soon as one is available.

Thank you for your recent votes on the individual performance items. High memory and RAM usage is something we are continuously working to improve, and the team is hard at work on fixes.
If interested, you can find more details on how Teams currently uses Memory at https://docs.microsoft.com/microsoftteams/teams-memory-usage-perf.

It is so ridicilous, that a simple feature like that is on Backlog for more than 8 months now and only a ****** workaround exists. Come on, MS - seriously?
But I mean: what to expect from a company, where creating software is not core business? how should they be able to provide such a complex functionality within such a short period of time?

Amazing - an absolutely basic functionality is "on the backlog". If this is not priority - what else is? Must be something that will blow our minds...

Ok, we have understood. This is just a platform to keep users busy and give some stress relief. No real issue tackling, instead the mostly voted things get closed with a ridicilous statement.
Let's stay with a great song of Dire Straits for the time being: Money for nothing.
