To expand on this any activity that happens in ongoing meetings gets duplicate notifications. I get both an indicator in the actual meeting window and then another separate one in the activity tab.
It's fine to have the content in both places, that's the point after all, but if I click on the meeting window and read a new message I should not have to ALSO go to the activity tab and click on the message so that both new message indicators go away.
