Team is a javascript plus web browser embedded in an exe file.
Forget anything about Active Directory, Group Policy and any sort of common management for Teams.
Teams is the new future of products not following established standards with long lived never to be fixed bugs.
Expect Teams to live just long enough to get to a critical mass of never to be fixed bugs and then a new 'replacement' product will be announced by Microsoft.
The replacement product will have its share of unfixed bugs, management problems and live just long enough for a new better replacement product to be released.
That way, the vendor never has to fix the issues and can focus all resources on the next product to sell.
Hence, subscription model with no ROI

The long term objective from Microsoft is to get everyone on a subscription for 'apps' running in a web browser.
Key point: Subscription

This year-old bug has popped back up, as some of you may have noticed.
It is only affecting users who are scrolled at 85%. If you are experiencing this, please send me user logs so the team can crush this bug!
Thank you :-)

Two years later and Microsoft is still working on it. Don't expect this issue to be fixed.
The Teams team only seems to add new features and not fix any bugs.

Simple. Office 365, SharePoint, Teams are not file systems. Do not expect file to file linking to work.
It is one of the hundreds of limitations of the downgraded Excel online experience versus Excel on a desktop.
We have encountered dozens of blocking problems when using Excel online versus Excel on a desktop.
We use Excel online for only reading the most basic of spreadsheets. Everything else is done on a Excel for the desktop.
In other areas, there would be a large yellow warning "This film has been modified to fit the screen size and edited for content" yet in software, the vendor gets away with substandard limited product and sells it as a 100% replacement for the existing Excel for the desktop.
This is the 7 year computer software hype cycle.
