add an option to remove participants from meetings so they will not receive chats once they left the meeting.

i have a user on windows 7 newest version of the client that is also hearing calls but cannot find where to answer them. upon investigation i found you have to go to the teams client and the top right hand corner has a banner to accept the call. it doesn't come forefront or have the standard answer call like everyone else in the company.

I am going to look into the mulitple display and the windows quiet hours setting.

I have one user that will get a benner in teams to accepts the call but not get the desktop notification. since it does not bring the notification to the forefront she was not seeing a way to answer it.

I disagree with locking the meeting chat as some attendees drop off early and others are left discussing something. There are Managers that have overlapping meetings that may want to keep seeing the chat as the leave one meeting and go to the next, with the intent of coming back to the first meeting.

The better option would be to somehow stop messages coming to the attendee after they drop off the meeting. this does go against my last sentence above but it may be a good compromise.

when you ask people to do this they cover the video but do not disable the video.

yes, this would be a very helpful option for large meetings where people do not understand or know how to mute their audio and video.
