This is currently in Preview – planned to release very soon.

In the following weeks, Teams will be rolling out support on Safari 11+ on macOS. While in preview, there are known issues with Safari’s ITP mode and it is advised that users disable Safari’s Intelligent Tracking Prevention.

Not being able to view/change the meeting settings in Safari ("use another browser") is a huge pain.

We apologize for the confusion this is causing. Your meeting attendees receive a non-mirrored video including the image of you and any text, whiteboards etc. The image and video in your Call Monitor screen is shown to you only, as if you were looking in a mirror.

We are reviewing options to make this more user friendly (including a toggle), and will update status here as we have more. But, please note there is no action needed from you to ensure attendees see the correct image.

    Thank you!

For teachers trying to teach phonics and letter recognition, it’s harder to teach if you’re looking at your own screen and the text is mirrored - even if participants can see it the correct way round.

The ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is supported on iOS & Android today. The feature team is continuing to work on support for multiple accounts on desktop. We’ll keep you posted as we have more details.

Thank you for all of the feedback around this feature! We are reviewing what the best path forward is for this.

Just so everyone knows in the meantime, teachers can absolutely review any student attached or distributed work in Assignments even if students have not clicked the ‘Turn in’ button. Some of the comments also mention that the work might not be done digitally and submitted a different way, students can also Turn in the assignment without attaching any files/resources or can use the Teams mobile app to take a photo of their paper-based work to submit digitally.

Finally, when you return the assignment as a teacher (even without the student turning in) the feedback loop is also closed. Hope this helps.

This is better; but I've got to rely on every teacher to do this individually for every meeting they organise? Really needs to be a global policy. (Also, I can't get to Meeting Options on my Mac as it doesn't work with Safari, which is very irritating.)

This is a safeguarding issue, as I don’t want children in a meeting before I’ve joined. This should take priority over other developments if possible.

Hi all, thanks for the feedback thus far on attendance tracking.

We would love further details from you to better understand what you are looking for in an attendance tracking feature and to address this as fast as possible:

    1. Are you looking to “add a tab”? (original request)
    2. Are you looking for a Gradebook-like experience to track student attendance throughout the class?
    3. Will this be used primarily for online classes and online training, or needed for physical classrooms too?
    4. If you would like the ability to download the student attendance list from within a Teams meeting, could you please upvote this related UserVoice feedback: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/599053/suggestions/39969796

We look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for the feedback and waiting for this feature with patience. We have enabled download of a meeting attendance list during a meeting. This is released for general availability. Please note this feature is turned off by default, and needs to be enabled via admin policy.

See documentation for this feature here: https://support.office.com/article/download-attendance-reports-in-teams-ae7cf170-530c-47d3-84c1-3aedac74d310

Note: We are continuing to work on enabling download after a meeting has concluded, as well.

    Thanks.

Thanks to everyone who has voted on this. The team is making progress to ensure we have a safe and secure way to allow teachers to “hard mute” students during a meeting. We will share more details as we have them.

    1. As stated last time, based on the volume of recent feedback, we fast-tracked adding the ability for meeting organizers to end a meeting for all participants with the click of a button one-time. This was released to the public ring today.
    1. In addition, the team has begun working on an option requiring everyone other than the meeting organizer to go thru the lobby. Once that feature is available, attendees will be placed in the lobby when rejoining the meeting, the setting will be available in meeting options for each meeting. Please see this UV item – https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/599053/suggestions/39962434.
    1. If, instead of looking for a per meeting control, you are looking for admin level control to prevent students from starting any meeting or any calls without educators present, and wants to apply this control regardless of whether a meeting organizer remembers to change the lobby option, please vote on this UV…

In May we introduced a new user setting, Only me, that meeting organizers could select when configuring the “Who can bypass lobby?” setting for a Teams meeting. We are now making it possible for you to set Teams meeting defaults in your organization so that only meeting organizers can bypass the lobby.

Your IT admin will now be able to set “Automatically admit people” to Organizer only

    Please note

When set, only the organizer can join directly; all attendees will need to enter via lobby
Once this is your tenant default, it applies to all new meetings created by the user. It does not affect meetings set up prior to this change where Meeting options were updated.
To change the lobby setting for previously created meetings, Meeting organizers can select Meeting options in the meeting invitation for each meeting they schedule.

That all sounds great. Thank you. I've just downloaded the latest versions. It doesn't seem to work for my accounts? (Students have the Education_PrimaryStudent_RemoteLearning policy applied, which doesn't allow them to schedule meetings, they can however today still enter meetings before the teacher and use chat. I'm probably doing something wrong...
