It would be great to have another choice for verification other than cell phone for those of us that work in vaulted areas in buildings with thick walls. By the time I pull my CAC card, exit the vault, get my phone from locked storage, walk around 100 meters to where I can start to get reception, By the time I can get back to the desk with a code, 95% of the time it has timed out. It would be great to have an email as a back up to the cellphone text.

Grid View in Live Events
This has been suggested in other channels but wanted to make sure to suggest it here for Government. There needs to be a Large Grid View option for Live Events my users are nixing using Teams Live Event because of this shortfall. The only options are content/video or a combo of Content and small video. Adding a third option for Large Grid View would allow us to pin multiple presenter video to the grid. We could have a debate style conference or a team debate Style.

Move out of office prompt in group chats
The out of office prompt is very annoying in group chats, we tend to use group chats for our smaller teams and when a team member is marked as out of office or with a status it just gets in the way when it is above the message field and gives a cluttered feeling when trying to read through messages, especially when it is bright grey and re-appears after dismissal.
I think it would appear less cluttered if the notification was not near the message area.

Allow users to configure their Team to Land on the "Files" tab instead of "Posts."
When you select a Team, it takes you to the “Posts” page. This is usually an empty page and then a user needs to select "Files" to get to where they really want to go. I would like the ability to configure preferences to land instead on "Files"?

Applies to Android Teams app.
Chat view needs a way to view and select your contacts.

Layout on Desktop App
- The layout of the desktop app is terrible. There is tons of unused empty space. On top of that, things are needlessly busy and contain too much oddly formatted information. This may be in part due to the naming scheme the gov't uses, but an option should exist to create and view nicknames.
Because of this, there really isn't an option to minimize teams to a small area on your monitor. You need it maximized to be usable, but it clearly doesn't actually require that much space to be functional.
There should also be a way to minimize it to…

Enable more custom "view" options such as condensed view for Chat history
There are few options in MS Teams, and that includes customizing the way the app displays on the desktop screen. I would like to be able to drag various windows to resize displays, change back and forth from "expanded" view to "condensed" view in the Chat window, etc.

Allow Search of Help FAQ in the Teams App
Please add a Search function to the Teams Help button. The Browse / FAQ format assumes you know what will be asked. Please add the ability for customers to search help topics from either the main Search Bar or give the ability to search within the Help/FAQ Section.

Please make the slider bars wider
Please make the sliders wider. I routinely- unexpectedly -rearrange pinned chat lines in the main chat zone; when in meeting unable to move quickly up and down the chat; and moving up and down a page in a Team/ channel requires an effort to snag the thin line with the mouse. Thank you.

Correct OSX Interface Inconsistencies
OSX has user interface standards, please use them like you do for other applications. Specifically your notifications really have to be made part of the OSX standard notifications system. Same on Win10 actually. Other O365 Office apps already do this.
Second, put the settings in the "Preferences" section under the app menu like the OSX standard requires. You can leave it in the image as well, but OSX users look for settings in the Preferences menu below the Application "Named" menu (first one after the system Apple menu to the right).
The notifications thing is just awful both on OSX…

At the City of Carlsbad, CA we are using Teams as a virtual collaboration tool in support of our Emergency Operations Center during natural disasters and other emergency service needs. Happy to present our use to anyone on your team if interested.
Also curious if you know if any other government jurisdiction is using Teams in a similar manner. As far as we can tell, we are the only ones.
Thanks.

Provide (do not require) CAC access, without the dual authentication requirements. A significantly large portion of the user base, work in secure environments, without LAN line or Cell phone access. Some of us are grown up and can use a CAC on personal computers. Plus scrap the 18 hour session time out. It is just a head ache that actually reduces security because people are using the alternative number sign in, and some rando is hitting the pound sign, proving nothing.

Automatic sign in on phones
It is very annoying having to always re-sign into my account every time I open the app on my phone. Make it so I can just click on the app and open it, instead of having to type my password, then call to verify and press the # sign. This is very inefficient and inconvenient.

Shrink/condense chat & teams window size
The teams window takes up a lot of screen real-estate and I'm finding myself frequently needing to close it because its in the way of other work. For example, the chat window (when popped out) at its smallest size is still twice the size of a skype chat. Can you provide an option for a more condensed view. When within the Teams app, you lose the contact list if you try to shrink the window which isn't helpful when multiple chats are occuring.

UI needs an overhaul. Wasting bottom screen space with 5 tabs, 3 of which are what we use, is kind of pointless when slack and discord have more proven, user friendly UI. Nix the tabs, especially the cvr hub and move to a UI with channels and such on the left of the screen with chat centered/right. This is the reason everyone hates using teams, no reason we can’t make it better.

Warning Prompt before closing Microsoft TEAMS.
Please enable a warning prompt before closing Microsoft TEAMS. I keep clicking on the 'x' in the upper, right corner to close a window thinking that it will close the file or page I'm currently looking at within Microsoft TEAMS. It is actually the close application button and immediately closes Microsoft TEAMS entirely! There is no warning prompt that comes up that asks 'Do you want to exit the program?'. I have to keep logging in and logging in and logging in, because I am naturally attuned to closing a page within the application using the 'x'. Please enable a…
