Allow Teams To Be More Military/Rank-Oriented With Military Rankings In Naming Conventions
Microsoft Teams seems to use a
<First Name> <Last Name>
system, especially in the mobile versions. For military/government organizations, it is more rank oriented and people's names are structured:
<Rank> <Last Name>
In the mobile versions, when speaking, your name shows up as:
And it's hard to differentiate exactly who is doing what activity or who is speaking because of naming conflicts. For example, there are 5 people who have the rank of "Sgt" with a last name beginning with "K" and they all show up as "Sgt K.".
Can we have some sort of feature or administrative power to change the naming convention? Also, can this feature be available for the desktop versions? Perhaps there should be some dropdown to select military branch and ranking (because many military members often mess it up, especially with the capitalizations). For example:
The first one is correct and the second one isn't.
I hope Microsoft is trying to get more of the market share for military/government organizations. If they hope to do so, they should allow customization of the app to be more military/government-oriented.
