Delete chat conversation
I don't want to keep meeting conversation times and history in chats tab. Please create Delete option. This shouldn't be saved at all. keeping conversation history includes highly confidential as well. I see no way it is secured one.

Thank you for your votes and comments on this feature. The team is in the process of finalizing designs for deleting private chat threads.

I don't understand the reason for the lack of a delete option. I don't make a recording of every audio conversation or phone call, nor do I keep every email conversation I ever have so why would I possibly need to keep a record of every Teams chat?

is this just a government side issue or is it Teams commercial as well. We are having issues now with our VDI downloading all the past conversations and taking up cache.

It is crazy that we cannot delete Chats in our own hostory - that feature needs to be added. If another person in the Chat history still has their copy, so be it. We should be able to clean up our own Chat history just like we can an email. I can delet emy own email but others would still have a copy of that message so it could still be FOIA'd, etc ...

One concern I have with this is: Would the person only be deleting the posts/conversations for themself or for everyone? If the former, that wouldn't really solve privacy concerns, since the information that the other people see could still requested in court/for data practices. If the latter, one can easily imagine a situation where some people in the chat/team want to retain it for their records, but one or more other people want to delete it. If there is disagreement, who has the authority to delete? Teams have owners, but 1-to-1 chats don't, so does one participant get to decide for both?

Agreed, I don't like the mess that is MS Teams. I don't want to have to hide something, if I no longer want it.I also don't want to have to go line by line to delete. I shouldn't be forced to keep old conversations / meetings.

I hate the clutter. Why isn't it more like Skype where every day is a fresh screen? The guys in our office spend a lot of time discussing **** like sports and sharing pics of airplanes in the Teams box. I can hide it, but only until the next set of msgs comes thru. MAKE IT DELETEABLE.

I don't care if it's stored somewhere else.
On my screen, it's a mess every time I go in to start a NEW conversation. I want the screen to appear blank each time I start a new conversation.
It would be better if there were a way to go to a Conversations file if I need to review something that way Skype for Business does. -

The Hide option already exists.
Delete won't really delete anyway, as all of the data will still be stored server side.
