  1. Need reply to message option in chat

Especially within a chat group, there needs to be a way to comment on or reply to a particular message within the chat history. This is useful when there are a number of simultaneous conversation threads (similar to how messaging is implemented in a channel), and is a common feature on other communication platforms.

  2. Delete chat conversation

I don't want to keep meeting conversation times and history in chats tab. Please create Delete option. This shouldn't be saved at all. keeping conversation history includes highly confidential as well. I see no way it is secured one.

  3. Ability to archive and file Chat conversations

I would like to be able to archive chat into a place like Conversations in Outlook like Skype does.

In the case of Channel Chats, it would be good to be able to attach them to Meeting Notes or archive the chat conversations into a document library.

We deal with NEPA and contracting and would appreciate that capability.

  4. pop out chats

With multiple chats going on at any given time and the inconvenience of jumping within Teams to various ongoing chats or other work, would really appreciate the ability to pop out chat sessions.

  5. Add ability to archive or export private chats and team conversations in a local format such as Word Doc

Although you may highlight then copy a team conversation manually and paste into Word, there is much to be desired for archiving important conversations in a local format. If an agency has retention set to 3 days, you are out of luck on day 4 and the saved messages vanish. It is crucial for us to be able to archive chats and conversations with the growing reliance on teleworking and remote collaboration.

  6. GCC

Migrate Group Chat into Teams Channel. Create an ability to spin up a Teams Channel from a group chat and preserve the original discussion into the Channel.

  7. Chat History function when adding +1 user to an existing one on one chat

Allow "chat history" function when adding a single user to a pre-established 1:1 chat with another user. Right now I can only add or remove chat history once I already have a group of three or more, not when I add a single user to an existing 1:1 chat with another user.

  8. Add capabilities to email using Exchange/Outlook from within Teams

Let's get a button in the Teams tool bar so we can access (read/write) our Outlook/Exchange email from within Teams.

  11. Meeting Minutes for Chat

Now that we’re having more and more meetings in Teams Chat, we’re finding a great fringe benefit: We literally get minutes of those chats for free. We can cut down on having the same conversations multiple times with multiple people just by sharing those minutes. However, copying and pasting is currently finickity, so my idea is to add a feature to support this directly.

    1. Click a button at the start of chat which says “Minute meeting.” When participants enter that chat, they see a banner which says “This meeting is being minuted and will be shared.” A second “Copy Minutes…

  13. Open to the oldest unread message.

When there are multiple unread messages and you open Teams it goes to the most recent unread message, and then you have to scroll up to find the oldest unread message and start from there. That’s pretty dumb. Everyone is going to want to start with the first/oldest unread message. The app should open to that.

  14. potential ADA/508 violation: emoji animations lack the ability to be disabled, hidden, paused or stopped

In SfB there was an option to toggle off Emoji animations.

There is no such feature for the end-user in Teams, nor to stop/pause an emoji's animation cycle.

This is a potential accessibility violation, as per https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/Understanding/pause-stop-hide.html

  15. Group Chats - Allow users to reply to a comment like in Team Channel chats

I would like the option to reply to a comment from a private group chat like we can in Team chats. We keep group chats to stay connected but they have no connection to any project in Teams. It would be helpful because we have several people talking at one in the chat and it's so easy to follow along when everyone is moving the thread along.

  16. Customisable Praise Badges

Picture this - you've been engaged in a fierce debate with a colleague via the chat function on teams for the last 3 hours, until finally, in one foul swoop, the parley ends. Your colleague - Jim - has completely annihilated any hope you had of moving up the chain of respect within your organisation. He is unbeatable. A genius stuck in a modern man's world. Touché, you mutter under your breath.
Hands shaking, you reluctantly move the mouse toward the 'praise' icon in the bottom right hand corner. You review the options... Praise? Courage? ... Leadership? These hardly seem…

  17. Pin chat

Ability Pin a chat on the Teams smartphone app.

  18. Walkie-talkie feature for GCC

With thousands active government users in law enforcement agencies (GCC) cloud the push-to-talk (PTT) functionality would be a powerful tool that would greatly enhance ability to accomplish tasks set for our frontline users. Please add push-to-talk (PTT) feature to GCC.

  19. reorder contact groups

I would appreciate the ability to be able to rearrange my contact groups, I do not like the alphabetical order that they are arranged in because I have certain groups that I need to be visible at all times and not at the bottom of the list.

And while we're at it, I would like these contact groups to stay collapsed if I have them set that way.

  20. GET RID OF OOO POP UPS

It is RIDICULOUSLY annoying that Out of Office Pop Ups appear for EVERY PERSON WHO IS OUT OF OFFICE every 3 seconds. Do you realize how often people in govt. TRAVEL? How many of those things pop up constantly? How f*ing annoying it is that they WILL NOT GO AWAY?? What MORON at MS thought it was a good idea to make them persistent?
