  1. Allow Guest Access in GCC

An external user was successful in adding his personal account to a Team as a guest. However when he clicks on the link that was sent it will only open the Group SharePoint site and not in the Teams app nor the Teams website. Admin center shows this feature not available in GCC. Please update on roadmap or allow access to the channel or App.

  2. Improve Sign Up/Sign Experience for New External Users

I had a bad Teams day trying to get external users into Teams from a client project team.

In terms of competitors, I think Basecamp is a good, clear and reliable user experience: 1) invite the user via email, 2) they verify and 3) they sign in. The email doesn't matter.

The Teams external user experience is very far removed - please make it a simpler and better experience - it is after all usually the first experience a new user has of Teams.

I always advocate either SharePoint of Teams on the projects I work on - but the…

  3. Limit SharePoint access for guest accounts

A guest account added in Teams gets added to the 'Member' security group for the underlying SharePoint site. The 'Member' security group in SharePoint has Edit permissions by default.

A guest using the 'Open in SharePoint' option in Teams can therefore make changes to the SharePoint site. They can add lists/libraries, delete lists/libraries, delete site pages, edit the home page. The guest account should be more limited than that... maybe just Contribute access to the 'Documents' library which contains the files stored in each channel.

  4. Policy to Enable/Disable "Rejoin" Button in Policy

We've noticed if a participant exits the meeting themselves, and "rejoins" with the button, they will bypass the lobby and join the meeting again. If they are removed by an attendee, they cannot rejoin (but they can access the link again and get back into the lobby, which is expected). So either force all guests to go into the lobby and/or allow us to disable/enable the "rejoin" function via policy.

  7. Do not require profile switch for external users

Teams requires users to switch profile between their corporate account and the external account. This is creating confusion for the users and results in missed messages, action items, documentation etc.

Requesting enhancement similar to slack where all teams and channels can be viewed within a single profile.
