Teams for Government

Hi there, you’ve reached the user feedback site for Microsoft Teams. It’s managed by our Customer Advocacy Team inside Microsoft Teams Engineering led by Karuana Gatimu. Our entire team believes in representing your needs inside our engineering group and we appreciate the time you take to share them with us. Rest assured that a large team of dedicated people read and discuss your feedback!

Here’s how to get your voice heard:
1 — VOTE for existing ideas (this will also subscribe you to the idea’s status updates)
2 — SUBMIT new ideas (Please include only one suggestion per post. Duplicates are merged together.)
3 — RATE the product by clicking the little orange star on this page. This helps us understand our overall standing with users. It will collect your rating every six weeks.
4 — COMMENT in ideas’ threads, which we check regularly

For official product and feature updates we recommend three things:

Stay tuned here: We update our work items monthly
Read our Blog: Official announcements come from our blog at https://aka.ms/TeamsBlog
Review the Roadmap: Our upcoming features can be seen within the Microsoft 365 roadmap site at https://aka.ms/M365Roadmap

The Fine Print: We have partnered with UserVoice, third-party service and your use of the portal and your submission is subject to the UserVoice Terms of Service & Privacy Policy, including license terms. Please do not send any novel or patentable ideas, copyrighted materials, samples or demos for which you do not want to grant a license to Microsoft.

  1. Create a different alert for reactions to comments. I would prefer to only be alerted if there is a new comment.

In the toolbar I get alerts for new comments and also reactions to comments. If I am involved in several conversations, I only want alerts for new comments. Maybe create a different colored button or only alerted in Activity tab if there is a comment reaction.

  2. Audio alert for chat is too soft to be heard in office environment.

I need to communicate with my staff from Courtroom, but audio alert for chat messages is so soft they often do not hear it, especially if they are a few feet away at the copier or file cabinet. If we turn our speaker up to compensate, other audio blows us away. Please add volume control for alert, going up to VERY LOUD!

  3. Reliable Notifications!

Notifications with an audible “ding” only occur approximately 50% of the time. This is extremely frustrating and has already lead to mistakes in our office and we a considering abandoning our use of Teams and just communicating via text as we did before. Pleas fix this!

  4. reminder

Setup the option to create automated reminders such as
    "meeting in 30 minutes"
    "Timecards are due at 2pm"

    Etc.

Slack and other tools have a /remind command for this.

  5. Missing critical feature

My team aatwork, in New York State government, is trying to use teams, for 24/7 communication needs, however there is no option to turn on sound, and we miss each other’s critical messages. Please add a sound feature to the mobile apps ASAP
