Teams authentication prompt in meeting locks mic and camera buttons in current state
Context: I use Teams through the Mac desktop client. I need to authenticate to Teams while using my organization's VPN, because the authentication server is only available through VPN. Due to configuration issues that are out of scope of this ticket, I have a degraded experience audio and visual experience when using the VPN, so I've found it necessary to disable the VPN while attending a meeting in order to hear and see people.
Issue: When in this state - authenticated, in meeting, but then having turned off VPN - after an hour, my access token expires, and I am prompted to log in. Teams fails in an active bad state here.
- The prompt dialogue locks the meeting interface, graying it out behind the authentication prompt. No controls are reachable. So, if my mic's on, it's staying on, and same for the camera, and same for if they're off.
- The prompt dialogue then lets me try to reach the authentication server, but I can't do that until the VPN is back on. Turning on the VPN takes double-digit seconds, can take minutes on a bad day. The prompt dialogue freezes on a small white screen if the authentication server isn't reachable.
Desired resolution: Please at least let the authentication prompt not lock the camera and microphone buttons.
