Teams Web app does NOT show other participants' video - SHOWSTOPPER BUG preventing us from using Teams to talk to clients!
There is a showstopper bug/severely lacking feature in the Teams Web client. Namely, when 3 or more people add video to a Teams meeting, people using the Teams Web client DO NOT SEE VIDEO FEED FROM ALL OTHER PEOPLE TRANSMITTING VIDEO!
Instead of that they only see a SINGLE video feed either chosen randomly or coming from the person actively speaking (besides their own video in the corner).
This makes it impossible to hold any serious meetings with people outside of your organization (who most often use a Web link and a client), i.e. CLIENT REPRESENTATIVES IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN A SINGLE PERSON ON THE CALL! This is especially bad during the pandemic, when many/most of us are working from home, and we need this added recognition/putting a face to a name experience!
Establishing contact and trust is critical, and in this case client representatives simply do not see us! What is even worse, we are mostly using Teams Desktop clients inhouse, and have been completely unaware of this deficiency until recently...
See the attached screenshots. We had a meeting with 3 people (myself included) sending the video. Two of these people were using the Teams Windows Desktop client (20191209-Teams Meeting Screenshot - Desktop.png and 20191209-Teams Meeting Screenshot - Desktop 2.png). In both screenshots you can see all three video feeds. (One screenshot made by a person without video, who sees all three videos in their separate swatches; the other made by a person sending video, who sees his own video feed in the corner and two others in their regular places).
I decided to try the Teams Web client, and I only see either my own video feed (see the screenshot: Teams Web Client Screenshot 2020-12-09 at 10.17.33.png) from this same meeting, or my feed and a SINGLE, mostly randomly selected video feed from one of the other participants. I could never see all three video feeds together...
Notices:
(!) Both Team Desktop and Android clients show video from all participants. This bug is unique/limited to the Teams Web client, which is exactly the client used by ALL external participants with rare exceptions!
(!) When there are only two participants in the meeting, they can see each other's video feeds fine even if both parties are using the Teams Web client. This oddity only shows if there are 3 or more video feeds...
PLEASE FIX this ASAP! This is a MAJOR, SHOWSTOPPER BUG THAT DOESN'T LET US USE TEAMS NORMALLY TO TALK TO CLIENTS, AND WE HAVE TO USE ZOOM INSTEAD, which is weird! (Zoom, Google Meet, and other competitors do not have this issue; however many people use web clients, they all see each other).
