Camera stays on/reactivates after meeting has ended
After clicking the red "Leave" button to disconnect from a call (where I was an invitee, not the meeting organizer), the camera briefly turns off, then immediately turns on again (the LED is active). The only way to turn off the camera in Teams is to:
a) Go to Settings > Devices to view the camera stream, then close settings. Teams then correctly deactivates the camera.
b) Unplug the camera.
This bug has appeared in the last couple of weeks, and did not occur in the previous 9 months of daily Teams calls.
My camera is a Logitech C310, under Windows 10.0.19042
This is so annoying! And yes, to jump on the spewing Microsoft frustration, they just won't care about this and won't do anything about it.
I've been noticing this for the past 6-8 weeks and a dozen TEAMS meetings. The camera on my new iMac (but still running Catalina 10.15.7) turns off when I leave the meeting, but then turns back on a long time later. Maybe an hour? I know it doesn't turn on immediately because I always spend a half hour or so taking meeting notes. I hate this so much I FORCE QUIT Teams every time it happens. While I'm spewing hate at Microsoft and Teams... did you ever hear of a Whiteboard? And maybe allowing invited guests to annotate, etc?
Hello, I also begun to have the same issue since a week ago. Every time I finish a Teams video call the camera is still on.
I am using a Dell Latitude 5280 laptop with integrated camera, under Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19.042
Same as others here I have solving it via the Task Manager - > End Task (Microsoft Teams)
I can likewise confirm this.
I have the same version of camera and windows as Nick
I've been unplugging and replugging my webcam after every teams meeting to address this issue.
This is a huge privacy and security issue. I've simply installed a cover over my laptop camera, but that is not the fix. Microsoft needs to be on record recognizing this privacy breach risk.
I also have this bug. I can close the webcam by going to settings->devices then scrolling till I see my cam and then close the settings windows. However, this is quite annoying
I have the same issue. It is quite annoying.
I have the same issue with Windows 10.0.18363 and Logitech C310 camera. Exiting Teams does _not_ turn off my camera. I have to unplug the camera or use cvdm's suggestion of launching the Camera app and then closing it.
I can confirm this happens here too.
Annoying bug... Fix it already! (Instead of shutting Teams down, I start the Camera app, which takes over the camera, then close the Camera app)
I have the same problem on Windows 10 (OS build 19042.746) and Camera USB Logitech C310

Can confirm; same issue here with Logitech C310. Not just once, every time.
Same problem here!
This has been happening to me lately too. Teams has been super glitchy for a lot of people at my firm.
This didn't work for me, but what DID work was shutting Teams down from the Task Manager.
Same issue. The camera sort of blinked and came back on. Logitech C920 , Windows 10 build 19042.804. I don't see an easy way to shut off without a restart etc.
Have this problem on MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019), macOS BigSur 11.2.1. Looks like a potential big security and privacy problem.
Also seeing this today. Logitech C920 camera. Quitting Teams from the taskbar stopped the camera and it did not happen again when I launched it. Definitely not ok for the camera to stay on though. This will cause a lot of issues with other meeting software that we use.
I can confirm this happens here too. Closing teams completely (including the taskbar) immediately stop the camera.
I also have this problem. My camera is the in-built camera on an Asus Swift 3 laptop (Swift SF314-57) running Windows 10 Home, 10.0.19041.
I have been resolving it by Task Manager - > End Task (Microsoft Teams)
